Hawkinge House is a recent development from the Graham Care Group, which also owns seven other homes in Surrey, Kent and Sussex.

The development opened in 2011 and currently provides accommodation for 92 residents with significant care needs in studio and one bedroom suites. The second half of the building is under constuction and, when complete, will accommodate a further 92 residents.

The current development is divided into three social groups for physical frailty and various types of dementia/mental illness. Full 24 hour nursing care is available in-house so that most residents can have a home for life within the scheme. Residents’ spouses can also be accommodated, to allow couples to stay together even when one develops the need for on-going care.

One of the philosophies at the heart of Graham Care is to provide relationship-centred care. At Hawkinge, as well as fostering and nurturing relationships between residents, their family and friends and the healthcare professionals who work in and visit the home, a community day centre will be used to nurture relationships between the residents and local villagers.
